I bought this bag for a friend. It turned out not to be what I expected. Although it has a beautiful leather front, the back is cloth. Also, there is no zipper for the main compartment. I probably should have read the description more closely. Despite it not being exactly what I had in mind, it is a lovely well made bag and my friend was very pleased with it.

I am a school teacher and this bag has been excellent for carrying my laptop, papers, and even my lunch to school and back. It's durable without adding extra weight to my already overloaded cargo. The fabric is durable and I get compliments constantly about it. I would say that it is extremely handy having all of my school items in one bag.

I absolutely love Dooney! This is a great bag, made well as always and lots of style. The bag has lots of room, but I really don't care for the sewn in center compartment down the middle. I prefer an open bag where I can see everything. This divider has me searching on both sides every time I reach in for something. But I really like the stripes so I will keep it.

Great bag - perfect size, made with soft good quality leather. The shoulder strap in addition to the shorter one was the major selling point for me. GREAT BAG! I love this bag. Large enough to put my dog in it when I want to take her out for a stroll in the park. A heavy duty tote. At first, I thought the price for a canvas tote is a bit high. Great bag, great look! Bought this bag for recent travel and am very, very pleased. I love the organization features - great easy-access pockets inside and out for cell phone, iPod, glasses, pens, etc. My favorites are the one on the flap and the two underneath the flap - perfect for my phone and iPod. The small velcro closure on these pockets keeps my iPod secure, but allows my headphone cable to extend out easily. Also, love the large back zip pocket for papers and a book (or two). Nice fabric with a terrific somewhat distressed look. Good hardware, nice leather trim, comfortable adjustable strap. I was asked several times where I had purchased it. If I had one criticism, it would be that the lining is a little thin and hope it holds up next to the tough exterior. Now that I am back home, I have lightened up the contents and prefer it over my usual casual handbag. If you like this casual, urban look, you will love this bag!

Great bag for college students - My mother purchased this for me as a Christmas gift. I was tired of always carrying a backpack or a Longchamp Pliage to class and this year I wanted to be a bit different. This is a great bag to carry my books and notebooks. I'm normally not one to purchase a DB, but this is different than the gawdy other styles. I would not use it if you have a pharmacology class, but if your books are softbound, this is just fine. I like the cellphone holder inside the bag which is so useful and the sidewall zip pocket (great to store a small wallet).

Gorgeous in leopard print. I ordered the leopard print and it is beautiful! It is shopper size, so a bit larger than the average everyday bag, but I love it! I do not have the problem of everything getting lost in it, as I keep small items such as cosmetics in a small cosmetics bag and tend not to haul unnecessary items around. But the size allows for throwing in a magazine and a bottle of water while traveling. And it is not your usual boring black shopper tote.

Good bag, too many straps - There are no two ways about it, the bag is cool. However, I don't think it's going to age well like a Northface. I just bought it for a gear bag in Afgahnistan and not so sure its good looks or the velcro are going to last. Time will tell. For an around town bag, light use, durability in a harsh work environment, go Northface.
